According to CNN, Architect Kotala Krzysztof has designed an underwater tennis court to bring nature and sport together in a dramatic setting. Forget about the traditional hard, grass or clay court surfaces. We are now talking about underwater courts!
Krzysztof wants to build the glass clad-court in Dubai, which has a track record of pushing the boundaries of architecture and engineering, by building the Burj Tower – the tallest skyscraper in the world – and the man-made Palm Islands, for example.
However, engineers warn that such a design may be prohibitively expensive and incredibly difficult to execute.
The million dollar question however will be whether or not professionals will be able to concentrate on a point if there were a giant whale swimming directly above them. We know Roger Federer has unbelievable concentration but this underwater court might be a challenging test for even the greatest of all time.
